As part of the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS) efforts to support learned

societies in the developing countries, the IUNS-FANUS Travel Fellowship 2019 Award supports deserving students worldwide to enable them participate in the 4th FANUS Nutrition Conference, Kigali, 26th to 29th August 2016.

The Fellowship is open to university students or young scientists with an interest in nutrition

who wish to participate in the largest continental scientific gathering on nutrition in Africa taking place from 26tto 29th  August 2016, in Kigali Rwanda. The award is given as a contribution towards travel costs including return air travel, accommodation and conference participation. In order to qualify for an Award, the applicant should have submitted an abstract for the conference which has been accepted either for an oral or a poster presentation. The selection for the award will also take into account equitable regional/ country distribution of those who meet the criteria.

Four to five will be presented and these will vary between  $800 - 1000 depending on costs.

This is a very competitive award and all applications including confirmation of conference registration and abstract acceptance (including copies of the abstracts accepted) and applicants’ CV will be assessed by an independent panel.

Applicants are encouraged to seek top funding from elsewhere, however, anyone trying to apply  to  more  than  one  award  that  is  being  advertised  by  the  FANUS  conference organisers will be disqualified altogether from receiving any of the awards.

Students from other countries outside of Africa with an interest in international nutrition and an interest in nutritional issues in Africa are also encouraged to apply.
